Douwella believes in birth equity.
Here at Douwella, we are conscious of the fact doula care is not affordable for every pregnant and birthing person. When necessary, we offer our services on what’s referred to as a sliding scale.
Why offer a sliding scale? Douwella believes that everyone deserves support regardless of their ability to pay. Offering a sliding scale is about making care accessible to folks who could never afford to pay for a doula. Sliding scales are about trust. They are about acknowledging that people are more than their financial reality and that we don't need to be ashamed to talk about money.
